The Fundacao Eugenio de Almeida is a private foundation established in Evora by Vasco Maria Eugenio de Almeida in 1963. It's mission is to aid the development of the Evora region.
The foundation also has along tradition in the wine industry as wine has been produced at its winery Adega da cartuxa since the late 19th century.
The success of these wines has brought resources that allow the institution to carry out its mission to aid the region.
The Cartuxa brand is the principal activity of the Eugenio de Almeida Foundation and the umbrella brand of the Cartuxa winery, Cartuxa olive Mill and Cartuxa Wine Tourism.
The logo identifies wines such as Vinea, EA, Foral de Evora, Cartuxa, Scala Coeli and the legendary Pera-Manca as well as the olive oils Alamos, EA and Cartuxa Gourmet.
